Chang
H. Ahn, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer - Founder
and Chairman
Dr.
Chang H. Ahn is an internationally recognized drug development
expert with over 20 years of experience in the fields
of pharmacology and biotechnology. He founded
Rexahn in 2001, and currently serves as the company¡¯s
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Prior, Dr.
Ahn held dual positions as both Expert Regulatory Officer
and Laboratory Chief at the FDA¡¯s Center for Drug Evaluation
and Research. While at the FDA, Dr. Ahn represented
the agency in the fields of Antisense Oligonucleotide
Therapeutics and Multi-Drug Resistance, and served a
key role as both author and co-author of several FDA
guidance documents. Before joining the FDA, Dr.
Ahn carried out cancer research at the National Cancer
Institute and Emory University¡¯s School of Medicine.
Dr. Ahn organized and chaired the U.S.-Korea Bio
Business and Partnership Forum, of which Maryland State
and Montgomery County are partners. He has also
served as president of the Society of Biomedical Research
since 2000. He was named as ¡°Maryland¡¯s 25 CEOs
You Need to Know¡± in 2006 by Gazette News and Rexahn
was honored ¡°2006 Biotechnology Company of the Year¡±
in 2007 by the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association.
Dr. Ahn earned his Ph.D. in pharmacology at Ohio State
University in 1985. He also holds two B.S. degrees
in pharmacy from Creighton University and Seoul National
University, Seoul, Korea 
Rick Soni, M.B.A., President and Chief Operating Officer
Rick Soni joined Rexahn in 2008 with over 20 years of sales, marketing, product planning and business development experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Rexahn, Rick held several leadership roles at Otsuka America Pharmaceuticals, Inc., with responsibility for commercial development, corporate strategy and execution of licensing and acquisition of therapeutics, diagnostics and medical devices. Previously, Rick has held a variety
of management positions at Novartis and Schering-Plough. Rick has a BS from University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Tae Heum (Ted) Jeong, M.S., Chief Financial Officer
Ted Jeong joined Rexahn Pharmaceuticals in 2002 and has extensive experience as a venture capitalist. Prior to joining Rexahn, Mr. Jeong spent six years as a senior investment manager at Hyundai Venture Investment Corporation, the leading Korean venture capital firm. While there, he managed the biotech investment team, invested in over 50 venture companies
and produced successful returns on over 15 investment projects. Mr. Jeong operated two specialized biotechnology funds and fundraised a total of $50 million. He also held the position of Committee Member with the Industrial Development Fund of the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. After joining Rexahn, Mr. Jeong¡¯s accomplishments include securing public market listings, mergers, and successful fundraising efforts. He arranged and executed public listing for Rexahn on the NASDAQ OTCBB in 2005,
and then on the AMEX in 2008. He also succeeded in obtaining $30 million in equity funding for the Company. Mr. Jeong holds a M.S. in Finance from Johns Hopkins University, a B.S. in Chemistry and an M.S., specializing in Biomedical Chemistry, from POSTECH, Pohang, Korea.
