To
address the high unmet needs in life-threatening and
life-debilitating diseases, Rexahn employs on the discovery
and development of targeted therapies and targeted delivery
systems. Targeted therapeutics and delivery systems
may provide greater efficacy and significantly less
toxic outcomes than the marketed products.
Rexahn
has discovered Archexin (See also Clinical Trial section)
and RX-0047, first-in-class inhibitors of signaling
molecules Akt and Hif-1, respectively. Rexahn also employs
a proprietary multi-target aiming ligands (MuTAL) platform
and targeted nanomedicine platforms for the discovery
and development of new therapeutics. The targeted products
from the MuTAL and nanomedicine platforms are expected
to offer patients a significant improvement in their
quality of life and therapeutic outcome.
